Short Description & IP Code Application Tips

0 = Not Protected

IP1X = Protected against ingress of solid objects of Ø 50 mm and bigger – Use Handled Sphere Probe

IP2X = Protected against ingress of solid objects Ø 12 mm and bigger – Use Jointed Finger Probe

IP3X = Protected against ingress of solid objects Ø 2,5 mm and bigger – Use Rode Wire Probe Ø 2,5 mm

IP4X = Protected against ingress of solid objects Ø 1,0 mm and bigger – Use Rode Wire Probe Ø 1,0 mm

IP5X = Protected against dust/powder – e.g. – Use Dust Chamber Without Vacuum – Use Dust Chamber Tester

IP6X = Fully protected against dust/powder – e.g. – Use Dust Chamber With Vacuum 200 mmH20 – Use Dust Chamber Tester

IPX5 = Protected Against Jet of Water – Use Jet Nozzle With IPX5 Tip

IPX6 = Protected Against Strong Jet of Water – Use Jet Nozzle With IPX6 Tip

IPX7 = Protected Against Timered Immersion – Use Immersion Tank
